A 17-year old student, Travis Kolasienski of Blechertown, Massachusetts, collected the Grand Prizeof $20,000 for the monstere 42 pounds, 11 ounce Chinook Salmon he landed while fishing with this uncles, Richard Carey. They fished out of Oswego, NY using cut-bait wiht a flasher, over 100 feet of water, about 45 feet down, with the bait trolling 40 feet back. The big fish hit about 6:45pm, when the Blechertown High School student grabbed the rod and began the fight of his young life. He won the fight and now he's got a good down payment on his college education. |
